Monthly Archives: February 2010

I was a poor innocent bystander.

It was a lovely night.

Snow was falling slowly, and the ground sparkled under my feet. It was the end to an uneventful weekend, and was taking a normal trip to the grocery store, when everything changed. I saw them. Standing there, having quite the intensive stare down. They were speechless. They were furious. I was standing in the deli section…

“Do we have to do this here?? No! I won’t do this!”

“You don’t understand me anymore!”

….”You aren’t listening to a word I am saying!

“Why are you doing this?”

……”Wait a minute! Stop! No! Listen to me!

I being an innocent bystander, was quite amused by this dramatic conversation between this couple who, standing in-front of the bread and deli meat, had completely forgotten where they were and decided to duke it out.

I continued to walk…the loud voices got quieter…

They turned the corner, silent treatment once again. (Can anything be any worse?)

Moments later I avoided eye contact as they started the heated talk once again…this time with more understanding, giving each other chances to finish their sentences.  I couldn’t help but smile…for they were hand in hand by the end of the aisle.

There they were, leaving the store like nothing had ever happened, filling the night with laughter and love, life can be so simple at times.

Okay, so maybe I wasn’t a poor innocent bystander, maybe I was the one causing the drama. But hey, lets have some humor in it! And to those who so awkwardly witnessed such tragedy, my apologizes. 🙂

New post…

Well well well, its been a while hasn’t it wordpress…I’ve missed you.

So today I worked on pulling more espresso shots (worked on is the key word) and now I have coffee stains on my jeans (hey its better than a towel!), with stained coffee fingers.

I’ve set goals for this month of february, which is now almost over and I started these goals last week.

Wanna hear them? Okay, I’ll list them…

  • Exercise with Chase. So I’ve been walking him and its fun. He’s great and we get along pretty well.I think he understands english, so I often tell him about my day and then he gives me a patronizing, “I know you think I’m listening…” look.
  • Eat healthy. Um yeah, get back to me on that one.
  • Keep writing music. Got 3 new ones…win!
  • Make better coffee. Work in progress!
  • Save money. Thats what bank accounts are for.
  • Post some new pictures. Yeah, someday.
  • Keep room clean. Does making the bed and folding clothes count?
  • So yeah, there ya go…I could list more unimportant things, but I don’t really feel like getting into that right now. I’m tired, and feeling under the weather. Tonight was taco night, worship was sweet. Not like the Oh cool dude! sweet! but sweet, precious. A pleasant offering and fragrance to God.

Whats new this month? Lots of stuff…not worth posting. But I will tell you that God has continued to challenge me in many areas in my life…He’s always reminding me to love unconditionally. I can’t even begin to tell you how many ways we can love people. Whether we want to or not, if we love our God, we will love his people. That has been my prayer lately, and will probably always be one of many prayers for the rest of my life.

Last weekend was an amazing night filled with folk artists and great company. Made new friends, and heard new music that brought everyone together for a short while…it was a perfect opportunity to spread the love and peace of Christ. It made me miss those too far away to come home however, and it made me miss Marquette. My town, my lake, my hippy liberal neighbors that fill the small college town coffee shop. Oh well, enough of my whining…I really am happy. Quite content actually, just tired.  So that is all for now…time for sleep. Goodnight loves…stay warm.
